Secondary research:
Coastal development and housing can be defined as where people are constructing hotels, homes, shops and other building along the coastlines.
Impact on the coastal environment:
Coastal development and housing can have different impacts on the coastal environment such as that it causes the erosion process to speed up causing the environment at more risk of eroding away and natural habitats are being destroyed such as sand dunes.
Impacts on coastal communities:
Coastal development and housing can have different impacts on coastal communities such as that there view of the beach is gone when tall building are built in front of their homes, the cost of the property goes up and that they are not going to be able to see the natural beauty of the beach when it get overcrowded.

Primary research:
On the 25th August, year ten students went to Cronulla beach to learn more about natural and human processes impacting the coastal environments in Australia. We have discovered that there were a lot of building along the coastline that came in different shapes and sizes. I believe if there were more buildings added around the coastline then this will be a big problem, due to that it, means not a lot of people are able to the beach in its natural form as it will decrease in size.
North Gong Beach:
On the 27th August, my family and I went to North Gong Beach to collect more primary research, on the way we have discovered that some areas near the beach were blocked off due to that more buildings were going to go there instead.
