Natural Process: Erosion
Erosion Secondary Research:
The natural process that causes erosion at Australian coastlines would be from waves, currents and tides, which help to create the formation of coastlines that we see today. Erosion can also be cause by the natural process of geomorphology that happens due to the shape of the coastline can affect the rate of erosion. An example of this would be that Headlands could cause wave refraction causing the wave energy and the headland energy to crash.
Impacts on the coastal environment:
There are different negative impacts that coastal erosion has on the Australian coastlines and some of the negative impacts include that it takes away the sand by bringing it back to the sea.
Impacts on the coastal communities:
There are different negative impacts that coastal erosion has on the coastal communities such as that every time when erosion gets worse it causes the houses to be at risk of being damaged and washed away, you are unable to look at nice beaches and rock features.

Erosion Primary Research:
Cronulla beach:
On 25/8/16 year ten students went Cronulla beach to learn more about coastal management and the reasons to why it is needed around Australia. We have discovered that their were a lot of impacts that erosion bad on the coastal environment such as that it has destroyed some steps going down to the beach as well as that the sand dunes are being damaged.
North Gong Beach:
On Saturday 26th August,2016, my family and I went to North Gong beach where we were able to see good examples of erosion and how it had a negative impact on the Australian Coastlines.
